Leo of Zenhabits, has a spiffy post on six free alternatives to Quicken & MS Money. I can’t vouch for any of them because I haven’t used them, not even Excel. I know that the spreadsheets work for a few of my buddies. I don’t really see too much of a difference between Quicken and Money though. I only use Quicken because it was the first of the two that I bought and I didn’t want to return it. Overall, it was quick and easy to learn and does what I expect it to do. I’m just cringing about the thought that I might have to upgrade every few years.
